TRANSPORTATION
The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority operates a trolley service throughout the city of Newport. There are four different routes that all originate from the Visitors Center; the Yellow Line (serving Bellevue/Mansions), the Red Line (serving Thames St/Fort Adams), the Orange Line (serving Beaches), and the Purple Line (serving Broadway/Shopping Centers).
The closest trolley stop is in front of the Hotel Viking (corner of Bellevue and Kay Streets). This stop is along the Yellow Line, which services the Mansions and Bellevue Avenue. The Yellow Line is also a great way to access the Cliff Walk by getting off at the Breakers stop and walking down Ruggles Avenue.
INTERNET
Wireless internet is available throughout the Inn. The network is “Marshall Slocum’s Network” and the password is “MoreSpring@29”.
WIRELESS PRINTING
We have a wireless printer connected to the network. Print boarding passes, directions, dinner reservations or anything else you may need. Printed documents are available for retrieval during the Concierge Desk operating hours.
PARKING
Parking in and around the city can be very challenging during the summer months. We highly suggest that you walk to most of your destinations (except for the mansions). The Inn is 8/10 of a mile from the center of town and is a pleasant walk through some of the most historic districts in Newport that feature homes built in the 1700’s. If you choose to drive, expect parking fees to be around $25-$30 in the summer months.
GIFT SHOP
The gift shop is located in the main dining room at the Inn. A selection of souvenirs are available for purchase and include our famous handmade logo mugs.
PAYMENT
We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover credit cards. A 7% state sales tax and 6% city hospitality tax is added to all room totals.
SMOKING
We are a smoke free establishment. You are welcome to smoke outside on the back deck or on the lawn. Guests who choose to ignore our smoke free policy will be charged a $300 fee to cover the cleaning expenses associated with smoke removal.
