Named in Yankee Magazine’s “Best of New England – Editors’ Choice” as the Best Rhode Island Bed and Breakfast, The Marshall Slocum Inn proudly welcomes you to the wonderful and charming city of Newport, Rhode Island. This year will be our 41st season operating as a Newport, Rhode Island Bed and Breakfast Inn as well as the 165th birthday of this Historic 1855 Colonial. The Inn has been preserved to reflect the charm and beauty of its Colonial heritage while offering our guests today’s comforts and service with a personalized touch.
Please be assured that we are practicing all CDC recommended cleaning procedures and have implemented a contactless check in procedure. When breakfast is being offered, we are serving a “take it with you” set up that will allow you to choose where to dine. Guests can choose to dine in their room, on the back deck, or out and about in our beautiful city. To limit interaction between guests and staff we have also suspended daily housekeeping refreshing. Guests can text our front desk if they need assistance with fresh linens or amenities.
All of our Guest Rooms are outfitted with period antiques, nautical artwork, and lush linens. Amenities include private baths, Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, terry cloth bathrobes, and simple touches to make your stay with us enjoyable and comfortable. Some of our rooms also feature whirlpools or fireplaces. Outside, enjoy over an acre of tree lined grounds, a large back deck overlooking manicured gardens, and a relaxing front porch. All of the outdoor areas provide our guests with a quiet recluse to relax after a day of touring the Newport Mansions, harbor, shops, restaurants and beaches that are only steps away from the Inn.
In the mornings, enjoy the culinary delights prepared daily by our Chef. Our full breakfast, included with all rates, features a menu of selections served alongside freshly made coffee and tea. Start your day healthy with a yogurt parfait, fruit plate or egg white omelet or indulge in our famous Blueberry Pancakes or Banana Stuffed French Toast. The ever changing menu can also be catered to any special dietary needs. Please note that we are following all social distancing guidelines so breakfast service may be changed or not available.
